Meeting Minutes – 6/8/1999

Lumnea, June, Day 8, in the Year 5099

[House Phoenix, Library]
The library of the House is a largish room, with the walls completely hidden by bookcases. A wide selection of reading material can be seen from a cursory glance at the shelves. Treatises on science and history stand next to ancient volumes on forest lore and magic. One rather extensive section seems devoted to arms and armor and the many subjects dealing with the arts of war. Locked glass-fronted cabinets hold rare tomes and fragile scrolls and even the odd clay tablet. You also see a spiral staircase, a carved red sandstone pedestal with an ancient volume on it, a trash barrel and a plain wooden table with a gold-trimmed modwir plaque on it.
Also in the room: (Lady Evialla who is scribing), Tilone, Graffy, Lord Parfyon, Seldom, Lord Eahlstan, Lord Shidain, Coldmist, Marekhi, Namarie, Haephestus, Sephirosu, Apprentice Sydarix, Journeyman Theoderick, Germinal, Journeyman Torthos, Lady Hyssopp, Lord Tegaron and Lord Waldo2, who are all seated.
Obvious exits: north.

Hyssopp says,"Thankyou all for beging here..you all are the heart of this house and the reasons we work so hard. Er being here.""Please keep your busy work down to a minumum, so that all present can hear.""As you all know Phoenix sponsered this years Gladiatorial Games. And I would say with much success."

Hyssopp says, "I would like to thank all members of this house for their support and contributions to the Games">

Waldo2 shudders.

Hyssopp says, "I wanted to wait until the ceremony to announce the overall winner of the Games, however, I will not have the trophys ready in a timely manner as I had wish. We will eventually have a ceremony. But that will be when the trophys are done."

(Waldo2 whispers don't use that discount trophy shop again)

Haephestus and Hyssopp begin chuckling at Waldo2.

Hyssopp says,"The winner of this years game is...House of the Brigatta."

Vorctal frowns.

You applaud and smile.

Parfyon snaps his fingers and moans.

Germinal nods and applauds, saying, "well done"

Haephestus applauds and "Dey fought wi honor"

Germinal nods to Haephestus.

Tegaron sighs.

Sephirosu nods.

Vorctal applauds and chuckles.

Torthos scowls.

Marekhi applauds.

Hyssopp says,"But we came in second."

Hyssopp says, "Aye Haephestus. They deserve the trophy indeed. But even they dont know they won yet."

Tegaron grins.

Your jaw drops as you exclaim, "we did?!"

You throw your head back and howl!

Parfyon mumbles something that you don't quite catch.

Hyssopp snickers and says, "I will write all the houses tonight."

Haephestus asks, "Twas a foon afair, an I look farwart ta next year, eh?"

Haephestus raises his hand.

Germinal leans against a carved red sandstone pedestal.

Hyssopp grins and says,"You all are the first to know. I can let you know how it went Brigatta first with 98 points.

Phoenix second with 57 pts.
Silvergate third with 53 pts.
Aspis fourth with 37 pts.
Helden 5th with 33 pts.
Sylvanfair 5th with 31 pts.
Paupers 7th with 20 pts. Soyvn 8th with 7 pts.

Sephirosu exclaims, "Wow!"

Parfyon wrinkles his nose.

Waldo2 says, "they won a lot of magic events"

Sydarix leans back.

Germinal rubs his chin thoughtfully and asks, "Oh aye?"

Hyssopp nods.

Haephestus nods to Waldo2.

You duck your head.

Germinal chuckles and says, "hm"

Parfyon ducks his head and says, "Prolly too tipsy t'fight good."

Germinal just nudged you.

You gaze in wonder at your surroundings.

Haephestus says, "Nae , dere points were in da fightin methinks"

Germinal blinks and asks, "erm...sorry...but th'Obsidian Tower be the Dhe'nar, right?"

Hyssopp nods to Germinal.

Sephirosu asks, "Obsidian Tower?"

Germinal shrugs and says, "hokay"

Hyssopp says, "but they only participated in the team match"

Germinal says, "thought they'd do better, "ah"

Waldo2 nods to Hyssopp and says, "and a couple of others"

Hyssopp asks, "Would ye like to know the winners of the individual age groups?"

You say, "yes"

Tegaron says, "please"

Hyssopp says,"Okay for non-magic first."

Sephirosu grins.

You stare at nothing in particular.

Germinal chuckles and pokes you in the ribs.

Parfyon scratches his head and exclaims, "Eh! I smell rats!"

Seldom blinks.

Parfyon asks, "What 'e do, train between fights?"

Hyssopp says,"Okay..get ready ta clammer those swords on those shields now.""90-99 Vindicate (Phoenix!)"

Germinal recites:

Hyssopp snaps her fingers.

Waldo2 says, "we also took a lot of second places in the non-magic"

Sephirosu grins.

Parfyon offers Sephirosu a werebear paw.

Parfyon asks, "Want some?"

Sephirosu cowers away from Parfyon! and says, "Nay thanks."

Parfyon shrugs.

Sephirosu declines Parfyon's offer.

Hyssopp says,"Okay now results for magic.

Haephestus smiles softly.

Hyssopp says, "But we made an excellent showing"

Haephestus says, "so next year we takes it back"

Hyssopp exclaims, "Three Huzzahs for Phoenix!"

You say, "I was very proud of our Controllers, and our House mates that fought, and watched"

You applaud.

You throw your head back and howl!

Germinal exclaims, "Twas an honourable tournament, aye. Our champions fought well!"

Hyssopp says, "I have much kudos to give out"

Waldo2 smiles.

You exclaim, "and yay Waldo2 and Hyssopp!"

You beam at Waldo2.

You beam at Hyssopp.

Germinal smiles.

You applaud.

Hyssopp says, "But I will at the official ceremony."

Hyssopp blushes a nice shade of off-pink.

Hyssopp just nudged you.

Germinal applauds.

Hyssopp says,"I will let the rest of the houses know tonight. But I wanted you all to be the first to know."

Barquentine beams happily at Hyssopp!

Waldo2 says, "hmm almost time for me to begin the initiation wait, but i want to congratulate everyone who particpated, and put up with the slowness of some of us controllers, especially the team matches"

Hyssopp says, "So..that is the business I had..I will announce the ceremony time on the Phoenix site."

Hyssopp asks, "So is there any more business tonight?"

Waldo2 chuckles and says, "well the non-magic team matches anyway"

You raise your hand.

Hyssopp nods to you and says, "Evialla has the floor."

Haephestus says, "Next year dey learn how hard, Briggata dat is, ye did weel and wi Honor all ye controllers"

Hyssopp nods to Haephestus.

Sydarix smiles at you.

Hyssopp exclaims, "Another house will be sponsering it..so I weel fight next year and kick some butt!"

You say, "I just heard that Lady Mirarte will be away a bit, due to an evil magicks corrupting her...equipment and will be back as soon as she can"

Hyssopp says, "Aye.."

Eahlstan raises his hand. Hyssopp says, "I do plan to have a wedding workshop this summer for the clerics."

Parfyon shrugs.

Hyssopp nods to Eahlstan.

Eahlstan stands up.

Tilone asks, "A wedding workshop?"

Eahlstan says,"I got a bit to say here. You'll have to excuse me if I am a bit rough, I am a warrior though.."There's an army less than a weeks march from here, you can see the cloud of dust they raise as they march. Seems to me that is far more important than babbling about a tournament.

Hyssopp smiles encouragingly at Eahlstan

Waldo2 nods to Eahlstan.

Germinal says, "..well..."

Hyssopp says, "Well..it is not babble..but go ahead."

Germinal shifts his weight.

Waldo2 says, "but less definite as to when it gets here"

Eahlstan asks,"Does the house have any plans on deffense?"

Eahlstan asks, "Or are we going to let them walk over us?"

Waldo2 chuckles.

Hyssopp peers quizzically at Eahlstan.

Germinal raises his hand.

Parfyon asks, "Why don' we lure'em inta the wine cellar? Let'em out the next day?"

Barquentine blinks.

Hyssopp says, "We have a guard.”

Parfyon waves his hand in a dismissive gesture and says, "We kin always git more wine."

Eahlstan nods.

Hyssopp says, "Geijon is the leader."

Tegaron says, "Master Geijon will have our battle plans Im sure"

Waldo2 says, "one of the biggest things i have learned about invasions, is that planning too much for them is fruitless, they each take on lives of their own"

Hyssopp says, "But Germinal I am sure can speak to this."

Germinal bows to Hyssopp.

Sydarix says, "ah say we send em some tainted grog"

Germinal says,"one thing I'd like to say first...Life must go on, regardless, Eahlstan. We cannot be paralyzed with fear. We should revel, and rejoice, in our rich culture here in the Landing.”

Waldo2 says, "we need to be prepared but they sneak in where they can"

Waldo2 says, "oops i must attend to the initiates outside"

Germinal says, "However, we have been making plans...and yes, there is still an active House Phoenix Defense force. I command the Wolverines...the scouting group...and rest assured we are organized and preparing."

Eahlstan nods.

You turn towards Germinal and render a sharp hand salute.

Germinal says, “We have been coordinating with the Guard, and we grow with each passing day. And...if you'd like to help us out...There's always room for one more"

Germinal smiles.

Barquentine raises his hand.

Eahlstan nods to Germinal.

Graffy beams happily at Germinal!

Germinal nods to Graffy.

Shidain whistles tunelessly to himself and says, "Eahlstan can help by carryin yer supplies..das about it.."

Germinal says, "you bet"

Eahlstan says, "Well, at least there is some preperation in the works."

Eahlstan bites Shidain!

Germinal chuckles.

Germinal says,"by the way..if anyone...anyone...would like more info on the Defense, please talk to me after this meeting.”

Eahlstan says, "That's bout all I had."

Rosevelt says, "I asked Geijon to join the protects a while back he said I be a drager and tender but he not here so I don't have any orders. I asked him if I could join the proctects"

You smile at Rosevelt.

Germinal says, "Your age is unimportant"

Shidain asks, "wait wait..Eahlstan..or anyone here..know why

Eahlstan is listed as an inactive member of our house?"

Rosevelt says, "I know I know what I can do to help I just want someone to say I am a in some unit"

Shidain asks, "Hyssopp..ya know who makes da lists?"

You say, "Eahlstans information has been sent by messenger to Geijon, and corrections will be made to listings in membership"

You smile at Shidain.

You say, "me"

Rosevelt says, "I got several white flasks stored and my tending power best for my age"

Shidain nods to you.

Hyssopp says, "Thankye Germinal"

Shidain chuckles and says, "ahh..thanks"

Shidain says, "he afeared to ask fer himself"

Rosevelt asks, "is the meeting over?"

Hyssopp says, "As the events come quickly in the lands..that is the best place to go"

Hyssopp says,"I will then close the meeting till next time, Which will be the first Wednesday in July.">

You applaud and say, "good job Phoenix"

Germinal says, "I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank Hyssopp and Waldo2 for their work on the Games"
