Meeting Minutes – 4/4/2000

The library of the House is a largish room, with the walls completely hidden by bookcases. A wide selection of reading material can be seen from a cursory glance at the shelves. Treatises on science and history stand next to ancient volumes on forest lore and magic. One rather extensive section seems devoted to arms and armor and the many subjects dealing with the arts of war. Locked glass-fronted cabinets hold rare tomes and fragile scrolls and even the odd clay tablet. You also see a spiral staircase, a carved red sandstone pedestal with an ancient volume on it, a trash barrel and a plain wooden table with a gold-trimmed modwir plaque on it.
Also in the room: (Lady Evialla who is scribing), Journeyman Loco, Guarrin, Lady Jauvian, Kismia, Straightedge, Journeyman Elasar, Lord Tacna, Lord Bentkeys, Germinal, Erokose, Lady Heathyranne, Lord Cynric, Hollylynn, Hyssopp, Lord Dimwitt, Kesch, Lord Waldo2, Lord Jaialias, and Herry who are all seated.
Obvious exits: north.

Jaialias recites:

"'ello everravon an velcome ta our monthly meeting 'ere at da 'ouse o' da Rising Phoenix. Ah vould kindly ask dat ya all keep da noise down a bit. Ah vould like ta begin vit a few short announcements"

Jaialias recites:

"Ah vould like ta thank Lady Hyssopp fer da excellent job she 'as done o'er da 'ears serving dis fine 'ouse. Ah 'ope ah can do 'alf da job she did as secretary in 'er 'ears, and vit 'er 'elp as co-secretary ah am sure ah vil. Course it runs in da family, she be me favorite niece"

Jaialias and Hyssopp give each other a smooch and beam happily at one another, as Hyssopp says, "Ye will..and with great flair." Jaialias recites:

"Ah vould like ta velcome back a membah o' our 'ouse who 'as returned aftah a long journey. Lord Erokose 'as returned amongst us, and ah am glad ta 'ave me newly adopted son an old friend back"

As Jaialias gives Erokose a hug, Erokose stretches and blinks as he says, "I nae sleep all dat long"

Germinal applauds as he grins and exclaims, "Aye, I thought I recognized 'im!"

Heathyranne says, "welcome back newly adopted uncle"

Hyssopp applauds and beams happily at Erokose!

Cynric smiles, as Jaialias nods to Erokose.

Kismia gazes fondly at Erokose as she sighs and says, "That's the last o'my boys you know."

Erokose says, "but... allas will 'member m'father. Nae mum"

Kismia coughs as she examines her fingernails and says, "Let's not speak of your father.", while Erokose whistles tunelessly to himself.

Jaialias recites:

"Now, me first ordah o' business afore ah start givin da floor ta othas. Da 'ouse event fer foundah's month, our 'istory races vere a great success, bettah den ah could 'ave 'oped fer"

"Ah vould like ta tank Hyssopp an Evialla fer 'elpin me vit ideas an listenin ta me rant 'bout it afore it 'appened an vould like ta tank Soulia, 'eathyranne and Cynric fer 'elpin me run it. E'en if Cynric purposefully gave vrong clues jes ta make it more interesting"

As Jaialias whistles tunelessly to himself, Germinal chuckles.

Cynric coughs, chuckling as he exclaims, "Did not!", staring off into space. Kesch begins chuckling at Cynric, while Elasar grins and Kismia laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.

Jaialias says, "now, ah vould liek ta give da floor ta me niece, da lovely Lady Hyssopp"

Hyssopp smiles and stands up, as Jaialias returns to his seat and Hyssopp says "Thank you everyone. I have 2 or three things to talk to you about. One..is about renovations. GM Kristing has submitted them. They are in Q&A. She said we will be pleased with the results. She is..for some extra cost, also adding to Phoenix some space in our Wizard workshop. I believe 4 more shelves, and 2 more potion places. You Wizards will know what she means"

Kismia smiles at Hyssopp and nods as she says, "Nice to know. Not sure why we need it but it's nice to have."

Hyssopp continues and says, "The second thing is, many events for Founders month had to be postponed. So..a few of the Houses will hold their events in April. Kristing will call it Celebration of Houses. Just read the news when ye come in for the dates and the events"

"Third and last, Lord Cynric has been gathering names of clerics who will be on a special list. The list is of clerics who will marry folks. I think this is primarily for Phoenix members"

Jauvian mutters something about polygamists, while Bentkeys shivers.

Cynric clarifies and says, "Perform weddings."

Hyssopp says, "Anyway, I am holding a Ceremony Workshop. It will be on the 13th of this month at 9pm elven. Everyone is invited to attend"

Hollylynn asks, "is it a list of bachelor but willing clerics?, or one that will perform services? Or is it ceremonies as opposed to ~services~?

Germinal begins chuckling at Hollylynn and shakes his head.

(Dimwitt votes on the first choice)

Cynric says, "The clerics are volunteers to perform weddings for people looking for help in that area."

Hyssopp says, "But the primary purpose is to give clerics an oppurunity to discuss planning of any kind of service. I will post more on the boards. Thankye Jaialias."

Hollylynn clasps her hand over her mouth.

Jaialias smiles and says, "tank ya verra much Hyssopp"

Jaialias recites:

"Lord Germinal vil now address us on da state o' our 'ouse 'unts"

Jaialias nods to Germinal, as Germinal coughs and says, "Thank ye. Ok...two things...First, it would appear that we've lost a Thursday 5-9 hunt leader...so I'm currently recruiting for one. I lead last week's hunt to bone golems, and it was a lot of fun"

Guarrin raises an eyebrow.

Herry beams happily at Germinal!

Germinal grins and nods to Herry, saying, "As Herry can attest", while Herry nods in agreement.

Dimwitt asks, "bone golems?", while his ghost wolf handpuppet's ears perk up quickly, as if it heard a twig snapping in the woods.

Germinal says, "Yer age nae matters, just need anyone above ten trainins to lead the Thursday 5-9 hunts. And ghost wolves, aye"

Germinal chuckles and nods to Dimwitt, continuing as he says, "Second...I'm still looking for any non-landing hunt guides. Anyone who hunts in Icemule, River's Rest, Solhaven, Pinefar, Teras...we need you. I'd like to establish a full hunt schedule in Icemule, for example. But we need guides there first. If anyone's interested in becoming a guide...or leading a 5-9 landing hunt, please speak to me after the meeting. That's all I have, I think."

Germinal smiles, nodding.

Jaialias says, "thank ya verra much Germinal"

Germinal bows to Jaialias.

Jaialias exclaims, "now ya all 'eard 'im, volunteer yer services!"

Germinal chuckles as he exclaims, "yeah!"

Erokose says, "nothin' tae volunteer", muttering under his breath.

Dimwitt says, "would love ta lead but cant guarantee those times"

Jaialias says, "now, ver vas ah", as he recites:

"Me granddaughta Lady 'eathyranne vil now address us on da state o' da 'ouse tease an ales"

Heathyranne says, "thank ye, granddad", as she recites:

"House Tease and Ales are held the first Saturday of every month at 5 elven in the evening. This month's went smashingly with Lady Ceolmhor's puppet show about River's Rest. The purpose of Tease and Ales is to bring us closer together and share some lore of the lands. Next month will be Teras or Solhaven food and stories. I am looking for ideas for stories, histories, etc. If you or someone you know has a talent you think would be fun to showcase, I ask if you would send me a scroll on it. Whisper to me and I will tell ye how. I encourage all of ye to be there as they are great fun and a great way to show house activity, make new friends, and entertain"

Heathyranne bounces around happily, smiling at Jaialias as she says, "tis all, granddad"

Erokose furrows his brow, while Cynric smiles.

Jaialias says, "nicely done granddaughta", to which Heathyranne smiles and says, "thank ye"

Jaialias recites:

"Now, ah 'ave von verra important message ta delivah before ve open da floor up ta everravon. Our Co-Treasurer Lord Sylvine vil be resignin from 'is position. Personally ah vil miss dat cackling, drunk cleric. Now, ve vil 'ave an officah position open, vhich ve vil need ta fill. So any 'ouse membah in good standing dat be interested in da position is velcome ta interview fer it"

"Ya can contact any officah ta set up an interview, an please vait ta do so until aftah da meeting"

"Now, fer future reference, anyvon who vishes ta 'ave something addressed at a meetin, can contact me and ah vil see to it yer allottes time fer yer say"

You raise your hand and say, "I would like to have an interview."

Kismia cocks her head at Dusky and asks, "You're intent on leaving us, eh?"

Jaialias shakes his head and says, "she nae allowed ta leave"

Dusky fidgets as she asks, "Can I still visit?"

Cynric asks, "Leaving?"

Jaialias recites: "Now ah vil accept questions from da lot o' ya"

Waldo2 says, "dusky begone from the house, and enjoy your new path at your new home"

Waldo2 raises his hands and makes a mystic gesture at Dusky. Dusky shudders!

Jaialias and Heathyranne just hugged Dusky.

Cynric blinks as he says, "I got you into this house."

Heathyranne sighs.

Dusky smiles at Waldo2, while Kismia gives him a good pinch!

Jaialias says, "good luck Dusky"

Kismia grumbles and exclaims, "Say!"

Dusky says, "thank you"

Heathyranne says, "g'luck, Dusky"

Cynric and Kismia both just tried to pull Dusky towards them!

Dusky asks, "you did?", adding "Can't remember that far back"

Kismia says, "We were just busy telling her she couldn't."

Cynric says, "I did."

Jaialias smiles at Dusky and says, "may Lumnis vatch o'er ya an guide ya"

Dusky nods.

Kismia just hugged Dusky.

Jaialias winks at Dusky and says, "an may ya find many a 'obbit dat nae be related ta me ta skin"

Cynric frowns.

Dusky grins and says, "He needs to come with me, just out into the woods a ways"

Hyssopp asks, "Dusky ye joining Obsidian Tower?"

Jaialias recites:

"Raise yer 'ands if'n ya 'ave questions"

Hyssopp says, "Just let folks know..that we here in Phoenix dont' keep folks against their will."

Jaialias says, "ah guess der be no questions"

Jaialias recites:

"Last call fer questions"

Kismia asks, "Aye, I had a question. What's become of Sylvine?"

Erokose glances at Jaialias and asks, "where da dancing girls?"

Erokose grins and says, "ya want a question I gived ya one"

Jaialias recites:

"Now, to our last ordah o' business, now, Evialla vil update us 'bout da 'ouse funds"

You curtsy and say, "thank you" as you continue on to speak saying, "as of this day, our House has grown to 1,826 members, minus one mage"

You give Dusky a good pinch!

Goeff and Germinal smile, while Waldo2 chuckles and Dusky glances at you.

Cynric says, "Heh.", as he and Dusky exchange hugs.

Dimwitt says, "das 1825 an a half. empafs only count half"

You say, "also, the state of funds is most excellent, with an Endowment of 38 million silvers, and General funds of 27 million silvers"

Jaialias recites:

"Last call fer questions"

"In dat case, ah tank ya all fer coming, and ah vil see everravon next month. Thank ya all fer coming"
