Phoenix Open House
This is a transcript of the open house held by the House of the Rising
Phoenix, June 6, ’98. Anyone who has ever been in a crowded place will
realize that it has been edited so highly as to destroy all feeling of
actually being there–and will be grateful to me. It was a
well-behaved crowd, but very hungry. I had the feeling that they had
fasted to prepare for the event, ever since they first saw the
announcement of the open house.

[House Phoenix, Entry Court]
Between Wisraith Lane and the house, a quiet courtyard is situated.
You also see a floating eye that is flying around, a bronze plaque, a
gated modwir archway, a massive entryway with the House Workshop bell
on it and the House Phoenix doorkeeper.

Darkanth exclaims, “If you’ll all join me, I will escort ya inta da
courtyard where da food is!”
You exclaim, “How did you know we all came for the food!”
The doorman opens the archway and waves Darkanth in.
Darkanth’s group went through a gated modwir archway.
[Phoenix Annex, Courtyard]
This serene courtyard contains an abundant variety of young trees and
small flowering bushes. A dirt path lined with stepping stones leads
from the archway to the main building. Off to one side of the path,
you see some polished wooden benches placed near a small pond. You
also see a teak refreshment cart with some stuff on it, a polished
teak table with some stuff on it, a large teak dance floor and an
oaken door.

Gentle melodies flow forth from the musicians’ instruments.
On the teak table you see a fiery ruby phoenix figurine and an
enameled Koar brooch.
On the refreshment cart you see a cup of fiery red cinnamon punch, a
mug of Elanthian coffee, a snifter of warm brandy, a shot of Jastev’s
whiskey, a deviled cockatrice egg, a thin slice of crisp rolton, a
nightmare chocolate frenzy, a phoenix shaped butter cookie and a
crispy fried wight claw.
Darkanth says, “OK…dis is where da dancing and food is…….there
will be a house tour in a few minutes”
A sales clerk steps over to you and says, “Ah, a fine choice madam.
The Koar brooch sells for 4000 silvers. You can BUY the Koar brooch if
you like.”
You find yourself humming along to the music and catch yourself just
as it ends.
A strolling band of musicians begins a sprightly dance tune.
A sales clerk steps over to you and says, “Ah, a fine choice madam.
The ruby phoenix figurine sells for 3500 silvers. You can BUY the ruby
phoenix figurine if you like.”
Darkanth recites:
“Enjoy”
As the troubadours begin another set, several couples nearby begin a
lively ring dance.
The musicians end on a soft and gentle note.

You go through an oaken door.
[Phoenix Annex, Foyer]
This oak panelled room is bare, save for a portrait hanging on the
east wall. The smooth wooden floor has been polished to a high sheen,
and your footsteps echo softly as you walk upon it. Four silver
sconces containing white candles are strategically placed on the
walls, lending a soft glow to the surroundings. You also see a fiery
red podium, a warmly-lit archway and an oaken door.

You see an oil painting of a beautiful elven woman. She has long,
flowing blond hair and soft emerald green eyes that seem to gaze into
your very soul. A plaque underneath the portrait reads: “Lady
Catrissa”.
You see Lord Waldo2 Ptolomy the Giantman Warrior.
He appears to be in his 80′s, has thinning black hair, grey eyes, and
tanned skin.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a light doeskin jacket, some centaur hide boots, some
ora strip leg guards, a belt of incredibly fine silver mesh with a
ruby buckle, a white frost giant skin cloak with the image of a golden
phoenix, a dark mail sack, an intricately woven golden mail sheath
with large gemstones imbedded along its length, a mithril juggernaut
pin, a Helm of Might, a pair of dark blue breeches with double bands
of silver down each leg, a silvery spider silk backpack, a small
silver star, a glaes falchion pin, a black enameled bracer with a
silver gryphon set in a ruby circle, a thin tan leather coat, an alloy
mesh neck guard, some black plate armor, a silvery glaes spider charm,
a white vultite shield, a golden phoenix-shaped pin, a gold-threaded
dark leather satchel, and a gold ring.
Waldo2 pounds his fist on the podium, and calls for order.
Waldo2 says, “now for the commercial, The house of the Rising “

rising from a mystical graveyard, a gold-inlaid myklian scale belt, a
silver edged black silk vest, a golden phoenix pin, a ruby inset
golden vultite clasp, some veniom studded armguards, a vaalin lyre
medallion, a silver lizard skull earring, a Kai crest, some soft grey
thrak hide gloves, an emerald falcon pin, a silver fist cloak clasp,
some veniom-worked boots, a gold-edged golvern coif, a starstone
engagement band, a golvern-bound black vultite shield, a enruned dark
imflass scabbard, a carved monir Voln symbol, a golden glaes spider

worked vera hard to train to protect our home and our landing.”

Phoenix units that work with the Wehnimers Militia. “

done an excellent job and established ourselves as a force that will
stand up for what we believe. That has always been the case of our
home. I hope we continue that.” Geijon recites:

of the Holy Phoenix unit and Aeolius is one of his top Liuetenents.
The WraithShadows unit lead by Dharkrhaven with great support from
their executive officer Tzigfried, The Crimson Winged Defenders under
Jaialias and the Kai’s Raiders unit with the strong leadership of
Kamul, Toecutter and Skarlett as well as the excellent scribing of
Liranne.”
Geijon says, “Many parts within the Militia need others to function.
Our home does that very well”
Geijon smiles.
Geijon recites:

Truekillr exclaims, “All I have to say is that it heartens me that we
come together in the time of need!”

Truekillr says, “It is wonderful to see us develop”
Geijon grins.
Truekillr says, “Militarily as well as in brotherhood.”
Truekillr exclaims, “Holy Phoenix will not fall!”
Geijon says, “Now would this be nifty when giving orders”

Geijon asks, “Brianus what are yer feelings on the militia?”
Geijon points at Brianus, giving him the floor.
Brianus exclaims, “It has been a grand honor ta serve with folk like
Truekillr an’ Welan. I believe after seein a movement of da greater
militia, dat dis houses units be as well prepared as any. I agree with
Captain Truekillr, Holy Phoenix will rulel the day!”
Brianus raises his red cinnamon punch in a toast!
Geijon recites:

militia, stand, raise your hand and state your rank”

Shirkon of the Crystal Conclave. They will explain and describe a few
things to you. Lets begin with Vickylynn.”
Geijon points at Vickylynn, giving her the floor.

Vickylynn blushes a nice shade of off-pink.
Vickylynn says, “I am the Commanding Officer of the Crystal Conclave”
Vickylynn says, “This is the Magic unit which mostly consists of
Sorcies and Wizies”
Vickylynn says, “I have many from the House of Phoenix and Myself will
fight the Baron to death if possible under the flag of Phoenix”
Vickylynn says, “We will win this battle”
Hyssopp nods to Vickylynn.
Vickylynn says, “Thank you and now will turn it over to my XO “

Geijon points at Shirkon, giving him the floor.
Geijon smiles.
Shirkon says, “Shirkon Rockcleaver, acting Executive Officer and
Operations Officer of the Crystal Conclave unit of the Militia”
Shirkon says, “We are equal partners in the Militia with all the House Units”
Shirkon says, “Would like to invite all to join us in the defense of
our town, our homes and our lives in this”
Geijon nods to Shirkon.
Shirkon sits down.
Geijon says, “Alright let me introduce you to one of our new divisions
then we’ll move along”
Geijon says, “ahh”
Geijon grins.
Zion raises his hand.
Geijon recites:
“‘We’re going to have Hyssopp talk about the Seraphs unit a bit.
Another of the militia divisions that all help to accomplish our
greatah goal of protecting the landing”
Geijon points at Hyssopp, giving her the floor.
Hyssopp stands up.
Hyssopp curtsies.
Hyssopp says, “Hyssopp Gladishem, Captain 5th Unit Seraphs”
Hyssopp says, “Lady Tygerclaws is our commander”
Hyssopp says, “We are made up of empaths and Clerics”
Hyssopp says, “We are the medical unit “
Hyssopp says, “We are training ourselves to heal and raise without
mana and spells”
Hyssopp exclaims, “Bit tricky..but I feel confident that we can aid
our troops to deafeat the Baron!”
Hyssopp sits down. Geijon recites:
“‘Now to give you a taste of the history of the militia and the
reasons behind it I’ll cap it off. “
Geijon says, “ah”
Geijon nods to Germinal.
Germinal stands up.
Geijon recites:
“‘Before that I would like to introduce you to Lord Germinal. He is
the new scout division captain for the House of the Rising Phoenix.
Our scouts will work hand in hand with the Militia. He’ll lead the
“Wolverines” a stealth scouting unit that tracks movement of our own
and reports location. Lets have him talk a bit more”
Germinal bows.
Germinal recites:
“My lord…”
Germinal recites:
“Indeed, as Lord Geijon has stated I am forming a new, Elite Scout
unit within House Phoenix…”
Germinal recites:
“It is our hope that this unit will improve uo”
Germinal coughs.

structure…”

“And that our Scout unit will be the best of the best
A covert strike force…”

Geijon says, “Alright I’m sure you are wondering exactly what the
militia completly is. Now you know all our units and the divisions.
Lets go to the very begining”
Geijon says, “The purpose of the Wehnimers Militia was established to
defend the frontier town of Wehnimers landing from the most imminent
threat, the Baron Hochstib of Jantalar. Jantalar is a rather large
barony within the Tyzmerrian Empire ruled over by The Empress, Mynal’
Lyanna. The baron, aided on occasion by The Empress, plans to take the
landing in conquest. It would then be used as a staging point for the
current war against a rival barony, that of Baron Malwind of Vornavis.
Baron Hochstib seeks to take the port city of Solhaven within
Malwind’s barony for himself. Its regarded as one of the most wealthy
and beautiful cities within the Tyzmerrian empire and is home to many
of the finest craftsmen and merchants. “
Geijon recites:
“”The Baron Hochstib was given a powerful magical artifact by The
empress called the Mandis Crystal, which will greatly hinder the use
of magic in almost any forms to the point of it being useless by
actually sucking the magical essence from your body and mind and
throwing it out into the atmosphere. In addition to this powerful
artifact, the Baron Hochstib will hope to over power us with sheer
numbers and forces believed to be in excess of 300,000 troops, which
is relatively a small fraction of his total army. These men are well
trained seasoned troops and equipped with the best gear that the
Tyzmerrian craftsmen can make. “
Geijon recites:
“”- Although the Wehnimers Militia itself is newly formed, the war
efforts have been going on for some time. A renegade Jantalarian
Knight highly trusted by the Baron Hochstib himself was sent to
Wehnimers as a spy roughly two years ago. His orders were to set up a
base of operations to launch an attack against the landing. Rather
then follow these orders he used this as an escape from the Baron, due
to his own reasons and because the Baron Hochstib had killed his only
son. Sir Maldon Quellsbourne instead formed the Order of the Silver
Gryphons to battle the Baron Hochstib and set examples of chivalric
demeanor throughout the landing and its surrounding lands. “
Geijon recites:
“”Gathering some of the more well known and honorable warriors in and
around the landing he began his Order. Although small it strove to set
an example and battle the Baron Hochstib and protect the Landing
anyway they could. After some encounters with Hochstibs minions and
several kidnappings something further had to be done as the Baron
Hochstib geared up more and more for the attack and final assault
against the landing. Thus the Wehnimers Militia was formed with
assistance by the Order of the Silver Gryphons to combat the Baron
Hochstib as well as any other threats against Wehnimers and its
citizens”
Geijon recites:
“”Today the Wehnimers landing is lead by volunteer citizens and
members who strive to protect the landing. Allied with many factions,
Houses and even distant races and baronies. “
Geijon recites:
“‘The House of the Rising Phoenix being one of the largest
contributers and with a strong member base and determined defenders”
Geijon recites:
“‘I hope that gives you a bit of an understanding and insight. “
Geijon recites:
“‘And then lastly mah name is Geijon Khyree, Your MC this evening and
Colonel of the Militia and Phoenix Defense.”
Geijon smiles.

“‘Ahm going to open up the floor for a bit and a rest so you can
stretch for a bit. Then we’ll move along to some songs, announcements,
congradulations and a bit of House history.”
Geijon winks.
Geijon pounds his fist on the podium, and declares the floor open for

Dominav asks, “What do you have to say about Hearthunter?”
Geijon says, “It was a hoax”
Dominav says, “The one who was kidnapped.”
Geijon says, “Hearthunter being kidnapped”
Amoret says, “Ah wouldnt say that.. you just dont know our community.”
Vickylynn says, “Me heard the Baron’s Men found him not worth much “
(Geijon ducks out the room for air)
Shonison says, “i have ta go, tis good to know we have such strong
allies here in this house”
Shonison bows.
Merelee says, “‘would still like to find out about the house but….”
Geijon says, “So you know jus a bit more”
Geijon smiles.
Delthir says, “Before I go, I just want to share my contribution to
the house quickly . . . My war anthem.”
Delthir recites:
“And from the ashes of the past, the Phoenix arose,
Inspiring awe in the just, and fear in the unjust.
The tide of the battle was shifted to the cause of good.”
Geijon recites:
“‘Now we’re going to close the floor for a few minutes agins and
Mirarte will sing us a song”

Aeolius asks, “has anybody approached Baron Malwind about a possible alliance?”
Geijon says, “There is a loose alliance with Malwind. He sees us as
friendly if not his allies”
Geijon says, “the town has a trade agreement with them alsae”
Geijon recites:
“‘Lets give a big congradulations to Thoranios who just turned 50th tonight”
Vickylynn applauds.
Ronyo applauds.
Bereave applauds.
You see Lord Thoranios rodenfall the Dwarf Warrior.
He appears to be in his 70′s, has long, straight silver hair, green
eyes, and tanned skin.
He has a tattooed symbol of Voln on his arm, a soaring black dragon
tattoo on his neck, and a rearing pooka tattoo on his arm.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a shot of Jastev’s whiskey in his right hand and a
phoenix shaped butter cookie in his left hand.
He is wearing a gold ring, some soft black leather boots, a golden
phoenix pin, a crystal amulet, a shadowy black weapons harness, a ruby
amulet, a ruby and vultite wedding band, a veniom-worked black silk
gem pouch, a forest green beret, a coal black backpack, a black
spidersilk cloak, a shiny earring, and some black steel full plate.
Thoranios recites:

“Our House, as many of you may know, was the first conceptualized in
the Landing.. We have a richer history than any other”

He now used all his power to seal the rift closed.
This he did at the cost of his own life.”

“With his last breath, Terate gave his void blade to his lady love
Had Rayyne not given the Stone to Terate, things could have gone differently

[House Phoenix, Entry Court]
Between Wisraith Lane and the house, a quiet courtyard is situated.
You also see the Avaia disk, a fancy turquoise sash, a reinforced
shield, a bronze plaque, a gated modwir archway, a massive entryway
with the House Workshop bell on it and the House Phoenix doorkeeper.
[House Phoenix, Entry]
The floor of the main entry is of dark flagstone, deeply polished, the
walls are of white marble, veined with crimson. The walls are hung
with brightly colored tapestries and filigreed oil lamps are set in
bronze sconces to illuminate them. Standing in even ranks along the
walls are many types of armor from half a hundred eras and regions,
each seeming to wait patiently for the trumpets of battle to sound, as
they ever have and ever will. You also see a massive entry door.
Jaggery says, “this is the entryway and foyer to the house everyone”
Hung from rods near the ceiling, numerous small tapestries brighten
the hall with their vivid colors. Each one depicts a different aspect
of the legendary Phoenix.
[House Phoenix, Grand Hall]
You stand in the Grand Hall of House Phoenix, a place of many a merry
banquet and celebration. Dominating the room is a massive modwir
table. Smaller tables are placed in alcoves along one wall for more
private gatherings. Elaborately figured silken tapestries flank the
great fireplace set in the eastern wall, while at the west end of the
room, a small bar holds libations for guests and Householder alike.
You also see a small walnut counter with a golden phoenix pin on it
and a wooden door.

Each tapestry is cleverly woven and each tapestry tells a tale; One
shows the final battle between Alladyre, the last Lady of Elanith, in
battle against Zenon, who gave the city into the hands of the Unlife.
The second shows Sage Andraax in his labors to create a means of
forestalling the Unlife.
The bar is carved from fine, aged modwir wood and set with a marble
top. The marble is thickly veined with streaks of red to such an
extent that it appears to be made of scarlet lace. Various bottles and
flagons await your selection.
On the small bar you see a flagon of fine beaujolais, a chaya of warm
sake and a keg of amber lager.

The tapestry hanging behind the table depicts the god Voln, The
Liberator. He is dressed in black chain mail covered in a white
surcoat. In his hand is a white shield etched with faint images of
souls floating upward, as if newly released from the rotting corpses
beneath them.

Jaggery says, “and the tapestries behind every table represent the table itself”
[House Phoenix, Kitchens]
Here in the kitchens, a large oven warms the room and fills it with
the scent of baking bread. An ancient iron cauldron bubbles over an
open fire, as rich steam billows forth to carry the aroma of rolton
stew into the air as well. The walls of the room are filled with
shelves and cupboards stacked high with dried and preserved foods of
all sorts. Piles of fresh vegetables and slabs of finely marbled meats
wait for the deft hand of the chef to prepare them. You also see a
wooden door and a set of narrow wooden stairs that descend at a steep
angle to the basement.

Geijon exclaims, “Whar Evi makes cookies!”
Jaggery says, “where tha food is so wonderfully prepared by our chefs and”
Evialla wipes the sweat from her brow.

[House Phoenix, Wine Cellar] This room is used for storage of the
House beverage supply. Large casks, kegs and bottles of all sizes are
stacked along the walls or in bins and on shelves. You recognize
labels from places both near and far. Many labels are old and brown
from age but the bottles are sound though covered with dust and
cobwebs. You are tempted to draw a sample or two but decide to wait
for a better opportunity. Some of the best quality vintages are stored
in a locked row of bins to keep them from ‘evaporating’. You also see
a steel door and a narrow set of stairs leading to the kitchen on the
floor above.

[House Phoenix, Maruko's Chamber]
Tendrils of a strange scent assault your nose as you peer around a
dimly lit stone chamber. Fading embers from a fireplace are the only
illumination and a cloud of incense forms arabesques above a brazier
nearby. Coarse granite shapes the walls and ceiling and darkly
polished marble flooring reflects the feeble light. A huge grey wolf
stands poised near the door and a canopied bed looms near the
fireplace. Odd weapons and strange bits of armor lie scattered about
the room. You also see a steel door.
Jaggery says, “Maruko’s chamber”
The wolf is actually a statue, cunningly carved from some dark grey
stone. So true is the likeness, that individual hairs in the coat can
be discerned and the eyes seem to gleam with feral intelligence as
they look past you and out to the wilds that this creature calls home.
You reach out and touch a grey wolf.
[House Phoenix, Lower Hall] This narrow hallway leads to the private
lockers of the House members. You also see a curtained opening.
Jaggery says, “here is our lockers”
Jaggery says, “right through the opening”
Jaggery says, “and there are two openings to the lockers in our house
which provides great access if you are in a hurry”
Jaggery says, “the lockers hold 40 pounds and 30 extra pounds for
those who pay high taxes”
Jaggery says, “off to the east is the other opening”

[House Phoenix, Hall]
This narrow hallway leads to the private lockers of the House members.
You also see a curtained opening.
[House Phoenix, Library]
The library of the House is a largish room, with the walls completely
hidden by bookcases. A wide selection of reading material can be seen
from a cursory glance at the shelves. Treatises on science and history
stand next to ancient volumes on forest lore and magic. One rather
extensive section seems devoted to arms and armor and the many
subjects dealing with the arts of war. Locked glass-fronted cabinets
hold rare tomes and fragile scrolls and even the odd clay tablet. You
also see a trash barrel, a carved red sandstone pedestal with an
ancient volume on it, a plain wooden table with a gold-trimmed modwir
plaque on it and a spiral staircase.
This massive, leather-bound book appears to be a copy of the ancient
Tomes of Elanthia.
There appears to be something written on it.

places of the world and in the realm of the dead. Others may come

A series of paintings hung along the walls here celebrate the founding
officers of the House. Two doors, one painted red, the other gold,
lead to guest bedrooms. To the south is a brightly painted door and
eastwards, a solid oak door bars entrance to the Planning Room. You
also see a spiral stair going down.

[Palma & Evynn's Room]
This is a room somewhat larger then most on this floor. Soft pastel
colors adorn the walls and brightly-colored curtains give a warm
family atmosphere to the surroundings. Nearly tripping over a child’s
rubber rolton, you note that room has been made for a child’s bed to
one side along with all the myriad items needed to keep one amused and
clean. You also see a baby’s bed, a small fireplace, a basket of
sticks and a brightly painted door.

A smaller version of an adult bed, but decorated in happy colors with
rows of dancing roltons and happy smiling velnalins all around the
sides.
You see a neatly laid out pile of wood and tinder waiting only the
application of flame to come to life. Nearby is a small basket with
sticks of wood, ready to be used to light the fire or to keep it
burning.
Lianeth takes some wooden sticks and places them in the fireplace.
Using two of the smaller pieces, she rubs them until a tiny flame
bursts out. Placing the burning twigs among the prepared wood, she
blows gently on them until the flames spread and grow.
The fire crackles and flames jump as a warm glow settles in on you.
Jaggery says, “Palma and Evynn were a happy couple who gave birth to a
child who is I believe titled, if not almost there”

[House Phoenix, Planning Room]
An ornate circular table, surrounded by large, well upholstered
chairs, dominates the planning room. Hanging from the ceiling is a
well polished crystal chandelier. Banners of red and gold, worked with
the insignia of the House, hang from the walls. An elaborately framed
painting dominates one wall. You also see a solid oak door.

This alcove is plushly floored with thick carpeting that extends up
the treads of a spiral stair to the next level.

Here, on the highest level in the building, are additional bedrooms.
The majority of the walls and roof seems to be sheathed in a clear
glass or crystal that allows an almost unrestricted view of the sky
above and the surrounding townscape. Various instruments of
observation and study stand on a raised platform in the middle of the
room. Several doors open out from the room and to the south is a
hallway. You also see a spiral staircase, a simple oak door and an
ironwood door.

[House Phoenix, Waldo2's Chamber]
This room is decorated in muted earth tones, giving a feeling of peace
and contentment. Obviously, the owner wishes to relax, away from the
strife and combat of the wilds. A solid oak chair sits before an
equally sturdy oaken desk. A plain but comfortable bed is the room’s
only other furnishing. You also see a simple oak door.

The desk is simply but solidly made of well-seasoned oak planks. It
shows signs of use but has been well cared for.

[House Phoenix, L'Greens' Room]
The bedchamber of Lord Lythe is comfortable and well kept. A four
poster brass bed, along with a small writing desk serve as the
furniture here. An ornate, hand-woven rug covers the floor in front of
the bed and a silvered mirror hangs opposite the desk on one wall. You
also see an ironwood door.

[House Phoenix, Platform]
From this platform, you gain a magnificent view through the windows
and skylight. At night, the moons and stars can be easily studied in
relative comfort and many of the windows and the skylight can be
opened to improve the viewing. In the daytime, the town may be studied
as well from this high vantage point. You also see a wooden pedestal
with a clockwork model on it and a brass telescope.

You see a swirling, turning maze of brightly colored spheres connected
by thin wires. It turns and revolves upon tiny bearings in a most
clever fashion. Small buzzes and clicks emanate from it as it turns.
The clockwork model buzzes and whirs as the spheres turn about their courses.
As you gaze into the lens of the telescope, you find it looks over the
roofs of town towards what appears to be the area of Cholgar’s
Bathhouse, though you cannot make out any details clearly due to the
intervening buildings.
Jaggery says, “This telescope once looked upon the Bathhouse, but now
it is hard to see as the new buildings create obstacles”
[Phoenix Annex, Courtyard]
This serene courtyard contains an abundant variety of young trees and
small flowering bushes. A dirt path lined with stepping stones leads
from the archway to the main building. Off to one side of the path,
you see some polished wooden benches placed near a small pond. You
also see a black cat who is sitting, a grey wolf who is sitting, some
manna bread, some pale sandalwood incense, a teak refreshment cart
with some stuff on it, a polished teak table with some stuff on it, a
large teak dance floor and an oaken door.
Jaggery whispers to the group, “this is the Annex Courtyard”
Jaared sings:
“The ash grove, how graceful, how plainly tis speaking,
The harp wind playing through it has language for me.
Whenever the light through its branches is breaking
A host of kind faces is gazing on me.
The singer’s eyes are saddened as the melody is sung. A glowing rune
is drawn in the air, and the light around you fades into twilight. The
scent of summer reaches your nostrils, and you hear crickets chirping
in the distance.”
Jaggery whispers to the group, “which is pretty busy right now because
of the party, but a great and beautiful place”

As the troubadours begin another set, several couples nearby begin a
lively ring dance.
[Phoenix Annex, Foyer]
This oak panelled room is bare, save for a portrait hanging on the
east wall. The smooth wooden floor has been polished to a high sheen,
and your footsteps echo softly as you walk upon it. Four silver
sconces containing white candles are strategically placed on the
walls, lending a soft glow to the surroundings. You also see a fiery
red podium, a warmly-lit archway and an oaken door.

[Phoenix Annex, North Hall]
Your footsteps are muffled by a long embroidered rug lining this
hallway. A green crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling, holding
several flickering candles. You also see a red pinewood door, a
rosewood door and a modwir door.

[Phoenix, Krisenfest's Room]
This expansive chamber is roughly triangular, and features richly
carved rosewood panelled walls which depict scenes of the Gods of
Light. An antique crystal chandelier hangs from a domed ceiling,
illuminating the red-veined white marble floors and a sizable four
poster cedar bed in one corner. A fireplace flanked by two armchairs
fills another corner, while a round malachite-topped cherrywood table
surrounded by comfy red pillows stands before a huge shelf filled with
books. You also see a red pinewood door and a ceiling mural.
Koar and Lumnis are the central figures in this mural composed of the
Gods of Liabo. A diverse group of beings surround the gods, reaching
out to them but never quite touching. Blue skies and billowy white
clouds border the whole mural, with images of a rising phoenix on each
side. As you gaze upon the deities, you feel relaxed and refreshed.

[Phoenix Annex, Catrissa's Room]
This spacious room is warmed by sunlight streaming in through a window
facing east. A large canopied bed covered by an emerald green down
comforter lies against the wall directly beneath the window. The oak
floor is covered by a luxurious snow-white puma fur rug that almost
looks as inviting as the bed. In one corner stands a small bookcase
filled neatly with several leather-bound books with esoteric titles.
Occasionally, you hear a faint sound coming from underneath the bed.
You also see a polished mahogany dresser with a small mirror on it, a
rosewood door and a short oaken bar with some stuff on it.

On the oaken bar you see some elven champagne, a bottle of fresh
creamy milk and some fine elven chocolate.

[Phoenix Annex, Guest Room]
The walls of this guest room are painted a cheery yellow and there is
a light scent of cinnamon in the air. A small window is cracked open
just a bit, and the yellow silken curtains billow in the refreshing
breeze. A low bed with an elegantly engraved headboard lies against
one wall next to a small wooden shelf. You also see a modwir door.

[Phoenix Annex, South Hall]
The hardwood floor is brightly polished and a thick white tapestry
adorns one wall. A flowering vine grows in a ceramic urn next to the
wall, lending a pleasant aroma to the air. You also see a sparkling
black mein door and a polished walnut door.

The brightly polished oak floor reflects the light from a pair of
simple silver sconces attached to the wall. A sweet soprano voice
quietly singing an old folk song flows from an archway set in the
northern wall. You also see a silver plaque, a polished walnut door
and a long marble table with some stuff on it.

She carefully places the tag on the table and glides gracefully
through the arch, vanishing into the room beyond.

The floor of the main entry is of dark flagstone, deeply polished, the
walls are of white marble, veined with crimson. The walls are hung
with brightly colored tapestries and filigreed oil lamps are set in
bronze sconces to illuminate them. Standing in even ranks along the
walls are many types of armor from half a hundred eras and regions,
each seeming to wait patiently for the trumpets of battle to sound, as
they ever have and ever will. You also see a massive entry door.
