Meeting Minutes – 8/2/1999

Phoenatos, Day 2, in the year 5099

[House Phoenix, Library]
The library of the House is a largish room, with the walls completely hidden by bookcases. A wide selection of reading material can be seen from a cursory glance at the shelves. Treatises on science and history stand next to ancient volumes on forest lore and magic. One rather extensive section seems devoted to arms and armor and the many subjects dealing with the arts of war. Locked glass-fronted cabinets hold rare tomes and fragile scrolls and even the odd clay tablet. You also see a spiral staircase, a carved red sandstone pedestal with an ancient volume on it, a trash barrel and a plain wooden table with a gold-trimmed modwir plaque on it.
Also in the room: (Lady Evialla who is scribing), Nimnaug, Lord Zion, Lord Waldo2, Foresty, Appalo, Lady Hyssopp, Greshka, Darchheart, Coldmist, Lauraellen and Lord Longvein who are all seated.
Obvious exits: north.

Foresty says, "Hello, m'lady"

You say, "Good evening"

You say, "we hope you enjoyed your vacation Waldo2, and we did our best to conceal the damage, and glue the vases and furniture back to together in the House and such, but those burns whoo..those were tough to hide. Everything went fine tho."

You gaze in wonder at your surroundings.

Foresty chuckles.

Zion says, "yeah the burns were a pain. Good thing Geijon's wig turned out that good fer waxing"

Foresty laughs!

Waldo2 says, "yep Evialla i heard you folks were great at scraping up the pudding from the food fight too"

You grin, as Zion chuckles.

The Symbol of Thought begins to burn in your mind and you hear Hyssopp thinking, "The House of the Rising Pheonix will now have it's monthly meeting in the house library..all members please attend"

You say, "Familiars came in handy for that too, they gobbled the excess"

Zion says, " wonder who finally got up there and got the spitwads off the ceiling"

You gaze heavenward, squinting as you say, "uhm"

Foresty smiles as he says, "A new recruit from what I heard"

Waldo2 chuckles and nods to you.

You say, "I think there still might be a loose one hanging up there, watch out for it", as you duck and cover your head tightly with you arms.

Hyssopp says, "Okay..it will be a small meeting."

Zion says, " hmm ya need a little more zip in yer announcement Hyssie, something like this maybe..."

Zion recites:

"The House Phoenix monthly meeting is now beginning if your not here in 5 minutes we're burying your locker on the glacier permanently"

You lean on Waldo2 as you say, "and if you don't come..you can't complain"

Foresty and Appalo chuckle while Darchheart laughs!

Hyssopp says,"Okay...we will start. For those of you who are new to the house, my name is Hyssopp Gladishem. I am currently the Secretary of Phoenix. Lord Waldo2 is our chair.

Hyssopp says, "On the first Wednesday evening of each month at his time we hold our Monthly Meeting.

Hyssopp continues, "We try to update the members on the goings on of the house, and to have two officers here to ask questions too."

Hyssopp adds, "So I will begin with the most recent event."

(Darchheart doesn't think Waldo2 looks like a comfy chair)

Waldo2 chuckles and ducks his head.

Zion glances at Hyssopp and asks, " the food fight ?"

Hyssopp says,"Phoenix had the honor of sponsering the Gladiatorial Games this year. This is an inter-house contest held between the Official Houses of Elanthia, in the Gladiatorial Arena. We won in the modern era of 5097, House Brigatta won it this year. We came in a worthy second place" House Brigatta will be sponsering it next year. Then we can take it back."

Hyssopp giggles as she throws her head back and howls!

Waldo2 applauds, and applauds, and applauds...

Lauraellen grins and says, "yup", then Waldo2 chuckles as Foresty smiles.

Hyssopp says,"We had a very nice ceremony for them. I think it was this past Thursday. It was held in the Museum. The champions for each category drank from the chalice. Then there a plaque was presented to Brigatta in their house. You can see the chalice at the Museum"

Lauraellen says, "easier to win when you're not concentrating on running the thing"

Waldo2 nods to Lauraellen as he says, "yep that made it a long and stressfull day but it is great to have been the house hosting it"

(Darchheart can teef it back if anyone wants...)

Lauraellen chuckles as she winks at Waldo2 and says, "it's always a long and stressful day. Sounds lovely Hyssopp. You guys did a great job"

Hyssopp says,"Brigatta and Phoenix both are honored on the plaque in the museum. We had a big party tent at Brigatta to celebrate. But now ..we have a new activity for this month."

Hyssopp removes a tankard of golden ale from in her dark azure cloak and smiles as she offers it to Waldo2 who accepts it, waving it around and taking a drink from it.

Foresty grins, as Lauraellen grins and says, "oop, no bribing the chair"

Hyssopp giggles and winks at Lauraellen, as Foresty smiles.

Zion asks, " won't he be a little unsteady to sit on if he drinks all that ?"

Hyssopp says,"Pheonix will sponser a Summer festival the last week of August, This festival will honor Zelia..who's symbol is the moon, and chaos, Phoen who's symbol is the sun, and Lumnis"

Hyssopp adds, "This should be wonderful fun. Please check our house e-scroll sight for more details. We are trying to get the house hunts going again"

Hyssopp gazes heavenward.

Foresty says, "Allready sounds like a blast."

Zion says, "oh dear gods everyone hide the rum Sylvine will be bad enough as it is"

Darchheart drools and says, "we get to hunt down members of rival houses?"

Zion says, " yeah there and the steam pool at Voln...plus the nekkid Kai wrassing"

Hyssopp says,"We are having a wonderful time this summer inducting new members. We inducted ten Saturday. Many of them are here tonight. Now I will turn it over to Lord Waldo2 to field any serious questions"

Zion says, " ahhh yes...fresh meat....erm I mean volunteers.."

Foresty laughs!
