Meeting Minutes – 2/2/2000

Fashanos, 2nd day of Eorgaen, in the year 5100

[House Phoenix, Library]
The library of the House is a largish room, with the walls completely hidden by bookcases. A wide selection of reading material can be seen from a cursory glance at the shelves. Treatises on science and history stand next to ancient volumes on forest lore and magic. One rather extensive section seems devoted to arms and armor and the many subjects dealing with the arts of war. Locked glass-fronted cabinets hold rare tomes and fragile scrolls and even the odd clay tablet. You also see a spiral staircase, a carved red sandstone pedestal with an ancient volume on it, a trash barrel and a plain wooden table with a gold-trimmed modwir plaque on it.
Also in the room: (Lady Evialla who is scribing), Haephestus, Thorin, Berillia, Fisben, Kerani, Hyssopp, Binrea, Lord Waldo2, Lady Heathyranne, Germinal, Lord Jaggery who is seated, Sarinel, Jauvian, Washee, Wouster, Hollylynn, Cheat, Ellethil, Aglarana, Lanthalasara, Fisben.
Obvious exits: north.

The Symbol of Thought begins to burn in your mind and you hear Hyssopp thinking, "The House of the Rising Phoenix is conducting its montly meeting..Lord Germinal, and Lady Heathyranne have much to share with us..all members please attend and come to the house now"

Germinal asks, "Shall I send a final call to all Phoenix members via th'Voln net, m'lord?"

The Symbol of Thought begins to burn in your mind and you hear Germinal thinking, "Just a reminder...the House of the Rising Phoenix is holding it's monthly meeting right now. Please come to the library. There are still several hunt slots available..."

You work your fingers under your silver circlet and scratch your head.

Haephestus grins and smiles as he ducks his head and he barks in his best parade ground voice "Alright ye boogers, line oop an gi a noomber, ye be H1, yer H2...."

Thorin and Hyssopp begin chuckling at Haephestus.

Fisben giggles and says, "H2? Ooh.."

(Evialla refuses to take a number)

Evialla smiles Not a Number.

Haephestus leans on you and says, "Ye allas be noomber 2 in me book Lass"

Germinal shrugs and says, "well...I'd think almost all members are members of Voln..."

Heathyranne says, "some are nae, a few choose to follow a straight and narrow path without Voln's help"

Germinal frowns, nodding to Heathyranne as he raises an eyebrow and says, "an ongoing issue..."

Germinal smiles and says, "Aye, nothing wrong with tha'..."

Sarinel says, "I am nae in the Order..."

Haephestus says, "I gi ye noomber one boot Beri ken da makin O torches oota beards..."

Hyssopp says,"Well..this looks like a good gathering ..so we can start. I will officially call this meeting to order."

"The first order of business is Heathyranne. She has an exciting even planned for our house."

Heathyranne coughs and says, "aye, I demand all yer silvers..."

Haephestus says, "Naw dat a wee bit O nice bussiness..."

You have no silver coins with you.

You say, "ruh roh"

Waldo2, Hyssopp and Jauvian just handed Heathyranne some coins.

Heathyranne grins and flails her arms about.

Heathyranne just handed Hyssopp, Waldo2 and Jauvian some coins.

Heathyranne nods and says, "er, I mean, I hae a new event"

Heathyranne says,"House Phoenix Tease and Ales night will be held the first Saturday of every month at 5 p.m. elven time. , followed by the House Hunt. What is a Tease and Ales Night? It is a night to welcome new members, to mingle with our board and to share a tale"

Hollylynn and Jauvian ask, "Tease?"

Heathyranne nods and smiles teasingly while holding a cup of teas..er tea.

Hyssopp beams happily at Heathyranne and exclaims, "I like that!"

Jauvian asks, "who we tease?"

Fisben says, "Soun's scarey."

Heathyranne says,"Each month, I will offer tea, ale, and edibles for our pleasure from a different area of Elanthia. A member of the house will regale us with a piece of Elanthian history or entertainment from the area we're highlighting. After which, we will sit back and chat. This month, our highlighted area will be Wehnimer's Landing. Lord Jaialias will entertain us. So come one and all...and guard your pockets well!"

Heathyranne says, "and that's it and I'm frozen" Heathyranne wails!

Hyssopp rubs Heathyranne gently.

Jauvian says, "a tale of tease..."

Haephestus asks, "Ye man it ta be Tease oor sould it be Teas?"

Hyssopp says, "Don't change the title..it is perfect. I will definately try to make it"

Heathyranne leans on Hyssopp as she nods and says, "I love the title...and if granddad kills me fer being the House Tease...ye'll raise me"

Haephestus grins and says, "Jest wondirin at da pun..."

Heathyranne grins and Hyssopp nods to Heathyranne, as Hyssopp asks, "Ye like it Waldo2?"

Heathyranne smiles hopefully at Waldo2. Approval...she wants approval.

Waldo2 says, "seems fine with me but nobody every accused me of good taste"

Hyssopp just tickled Waldo2, as Heathyranne cackles!

Waldo2 says, "ahh those bashes on the head you know"

Heathyranne nods and says, "warriors", as she grins and gives a sigh of longsuffering.

Hyssopp says,"Thankye so much Heathyranne. Perhapes Lord Waldo2 ..you can announce it during the initiations. We got him announcing these meetings ya know."

Hyssopp winks.

Waldo2 says, "sure i can"

Hyssopp says, "Well done", and beams happily at Waldo2!

Hyssopp is admiring Germinal, as she says, "Okay Germinal ..yer turn."

Germinal says,"Well, this is just a note to all who may be interested...,There are still to slots open for House Hunts near the Landing area. There is a slot open to lead the 5-9 group, and a slot open to lead the 20-29 group...And I'm almost certain there are nae any Teras hunters here tonight..."

Hollylynn rubs her chin thoughtfully and asks, "what is expected of a hunt leader?"

You say, "not to misplace the group"

Hollylynn giggles, as Sarinel starts chuckling at you!

You grin and ask, "wha'd I do?"

You say, "oh", as you slap yourself on the forehead! Doh!

Cheat says, "jus' left that cursed Isle...."

Jauvian rubs Cheat gently.

Haephestus chuckles and says, "Dat Isle a fine place ta be froom"

Germinal says,"But I'm assembling a Teras Isle Hunt Guide schedule. Just to remind ye..."

Cheat ducks her head and says, "if yer short an hairy"

Haephestus glances at Cheat.

Thorin mumbles something that you don't quite catch.

Germinal says,"A hunt leader is expected to assembel his or her group in th'library, make sure they are of th'right age, and have enough warding.."

Woustor scratches at his beard, and you smile at him.

Aglarana asks, "I am sorry to disturb you all...but just a quick question...is this the officer's meeting or the house meeting?"

You nod to Aglarana and say, "House"

Germinal says,"A hunt leader then, with any luck, will take a group of novices to a new area for adventure and profit"

"If anyone wishes to lead a 5-9 or 20-29 hunt...please stay after th'meeting and speak with me..."

Haephestus asks, "I inna house? I droonk agin?", as he takes a drink from his rich dwarven ale.

Thorin begins chuckling at Haephestus.

Hollylynn says, "I cannae help on warding but if someone else might, I might like to lead a group"

You say, "I can always help...if I don't get a muddled mind and forget the time," as you blush a nice shade of off-pink.

Hyssopp says, "Hollylynn will lead a group"

Lanthalasara says, "i could take a group out"

Hyssopp beams happily at Lanthalasara!

Lanthalasara smiles at Hyssopp.

You beam at Lanthalasara and exclaim, "Well hello there!"

Lanthalasara giggles as she leans on you and says, "hiyas"

Aglarana says, "hmmm what level are the hunters to be?...not the leader"

Heathyranne nods to Germinal and says, "granddad and I will do one, Germinal"

Lanthalasara says, "not much in the landing I can't lead to.."

Hollylynn shrugs and says, "I can sweep archies for em or throw the dirges, so either group is fine"

Lanthalasara and Waldo2 smile at one another.

Germinal says,"And, if any present currently hunt on Teras isle...please please speak with me after th'meeting...I need to put together a Guide List.

Germinal says, "Anyone interested in hunts, I'll be around after th'meeting." Germinal bows and smiles.

Lanthalasara says, "i wouldn't call what I do when i'm on teras..more a constant state of diving for cover..than hunting"

Hyssopp says, "I think Cynric is on Teras at the moment. You could ask him. Kismia resides there ..I guess."

Cheat nods to Hyssopp.

Hollylynn says, "Cassundera is there I think, also"

Thorin looks over at Hyssopp and shakes his head as he says, "She's up in Pinefar, met'inks."

You say, "oh", as you slap yourself on the forehead! Doh!

You say, "Germinal...check with Gleneth if you can"

Germinal and Hyssopp nod to you.

Hyssopp says, "Gleneth has a house over there. Aye..Cassie may be there. Cassundera is definately on the Isle, she might lead a hunt "

Germinal says, "Gleneth, Kismia..."

Heathyranne says, "I saw Gleneth around here just a night or two ago, but he could easily have ran back"

Germinal smiles as he rubs his chin thoughtfully and says, "Well, I surrender th'floor..."

Hollylynn snaps her fingers and giggles as she says, "I just realized something I get to open all the boxes from the hunt", she snickers.

Lanthalasara smiles at Hollylynn and says, "lucky you"

Hyssopp says,"Thankye very much Lord Germinal. Okay..now. A week or so ago, Lady Kristing announced that all the houses will participate in the March Celebration of the Founding of Wehnimers. Lady Kristing is the Guru of all the Official Houses..like Phoenix, Aspis,..ect. She wants us to plan a month long program. That is the cooperative houses. It is on the shoulders of teh officers of the houses"

Hollylynn's jaw drops as Woustor's face turns slightly pale and Lanthalasara raises an eyebrow.

Haephestus says, "Gads, he had me heart stoopin dere fer a moment"

Hyssopp says, "Aye...tis a bit of a challenge"

Hyssopp grins and says, "I have an idea of putting Waldo2 on a float. But I digress."

Heathyranne giggles and beams happily at Hyssopp as she "in a kilt", nodding to Hyssopp.

Fisben giggles, as Waldo2 shudders and ducks his head.

Lanthalasara says, "have to be one heck of a float"

Haephestus says, "Nae digess in pooblic, wait till private an digress ta da skin..."

Heathyranne smiles purely. Who her?

Hyssopp says,"Lord Artuero, Lord Manny, Lord Jaialias and Lady Allequerie, are on a committee. But the middle of this month, we hope they have a lot of neat stuff planned for all the houses to do"

Fisben says, "Yas gonna needs somfin tae gits da plate off'm."

Heathyranne gazes in wonder at her surroundings as she says, "if they stop talking long enough to do anything"

Lanthalasara cackles!

Hyssopp just tickled Heathyranne who giggles.

Hyssopp says,"My idea is..that we display Waldo2..as he is the oldest continual officer of any house. He can sleep in a rocking chair on top of the float. We can have an official waver for him.

Heathyranne nods to Hyssopp and begins chuckling at her.

Germinal smiles, while Hollylynn snickers.

Haephestus asks, "Ye kinna stoof an mount em easily, sa how ye display em?"

Jauvian asks, "let im replace the old thrak?"

Hyssopp just tickled Haephestus and rubs Waldo2 gently.

Hyssopp says, "Maybe a dribble towel. Anyway..I will keep you all posted on that."

Lanthalasara smiles and asks, "veil iron cane?"

Heathyranne grins.

Hyssopp nods to Lanthalasara.

Germinal grins and says, "I've seen 'im in action testin out 'is holy broadsword in Darkstone...an'there were nae a rockin chair to be seen..."

Haephestus says, "Aye, bote 'ow blunt da tip O dat swerd be..."

(Lanthalasara is trying to contain a really awful pun)

Hyssopp giggles.

Hollylynn whistles tunelessly to herself as she asks, "ya dinnae see it cuz it was tied to his behind maybe?"

Heathyranne cackles!

Hyssopp says, "Anyway.."

Lanthalasara begins to twitch.

Waldo2 chuckles and Kerani giggles.

Hyssopp says,"Also there will be a ceremony workshop sponsered by the Lore Keepers, "Feb. 13th from 5pm to 6pm, Elven. Probably in Silverwood manor"

Lanthalasara bites herself!

Germinal nods to Kerani.

Fisben ducks his head and exclaims, "Wa's an invisobul chair!"

Hyssopp nods to Lanthalasara and begins chuckling at her.

Lanthalasara giggles and says, "I had to let it out"

Hyssopp says, "I am Lord Truekillr will be the leaders of the workshop. er I and Lord Truekillr"

Hollylynn glances at Hyssopp as she nods and grins.

Fisben giggles.

Hyssopp says,"Okay ..does anyone have any updates from the Gryphons or the Elanthian Guard. One more Thing. Next Sunday, Monday and Tuesday..keep ye eyes open. Might be some strange folk in town"

Haephestus asks, "Sa what else we sosed ta do fer oor share O dis month, odder dan mount Waldo2?"

Lanthalasara begins to twitch as she snickers and buries her face in her hands.

Hollylynn cackles and gives Haephestus a good pinch!

Hyssopp says, "Okay..Someone else may have the floor"

Cheat says, "as if that's new...."

You and Hollylynn gaze heavenward.

(Waldo2 peers floor)

Germinal frowns and mutters clouds.

Hyssopp just tickled Waldo2.

Heathyranne grins.

Haephestus tilts his head down.

Hyssopp winks at Lanthalasara, who giggles.

Germinal gazes in wonder at his surroundings as he smiles and says, "Oh, I'm standing..."

(Fisben hides under the table.)

You raise your hand.

Hyssopp says,"If nae more news..I like short meetings. We are rich and we have lots of members."

Lanthalasara asks, "rich? Am I missing something?"

Ellethil raises an eyebrow and mutters rich.

Hyssopp says,"That would come from our treasurer...if he were here."

Thorin begins chuckling at Hyssopp.

Germinal says, "just a reminder, if anyone wants to lead a 5-9 or a 20-29 meeting, see me after th'meetin"

Germinal says, "er a hunt, if anyone wants to lead a hunt"

Germinal shakes his head and chuckles.

(Lanthalasara watches a moth fly from her coinpurse)

Ellethil asks, "how about be in a 5-9 hunt?"

Germinal nods to Ellethil.

You raise your hand.

Lanthalasara says, "jes toss me a slot..donnae matter th' age, at least 'round here"

Germinal beams happily at Lanthalasara!

Jauvian nods to Ellethil, who chuckles.

You say, "hmm"

Germinal says, "all my problems are solved..."

Lanthalasara giggles.

You raise your hand.

Hyssopp says,

"Okay..this meeting is adjorned" Haephestus glances at Hyssopp.

Germinal says, "ok, anyone interested in hunt leading or hunt related things, join me now"

Hyssopp says, "We shall meet again this time first Layan of next month."

Haephestus says, "Ye missed Evialla"

Hyssopp just kissed Waldo2 on the cheek and hugged Kerani and Fisben.

Germinal bows to Hyssopp and Waldo2.

Waldo2 just hugged Hyssopp.

Thorin leans on Hyssopp.

Hyssopp smiles at Binrea.

Cheat smiles and says, "good night all"

You say, "we can include them in a missive, tis no great loss"

You smile.

Hyssopp asks, "When will they send the next missive out? I havnt gotten one in a long time"

Haephestus asks, "Sa zactly how mooch O dis month we need ta take oop wi Dis house sponsorin Lass? Da foundin month that is"

Hyssopp says, "Our house probably one weekend"

Haephestus asks, "An ye say tis March?"

Hyssopp nods to Haephestus.

Haephestus asks, "Enytin oon da boards, as O yet? Err, in da werks may be a better term"

Hyssopp nods to Haephestus and says, "I hope there will be. I will follow up with Artuero and Jai next week"

Haephestus asks, "Ye ken where I headin wit dis Evialla?"

You nod to Haephestus.

Haephestus says, "Kin fill One O dose days most like Hyssopp."

Hyssopp beams happily at Haephestus!

Haephestus says, "An ye all want ta try da Puntest"

Hyssopp says, "Okay..sounds like good pun to me, er fun", as she whistles tunelessly to herself.

Haephestus says, "Will need ta gadder soom volunteers fer judges...Let oos ken what dey hae ta say aboot it, ifna, den kin allas hold it oof"
