VI. The Fourth Age, Modern Era Elanthia
(5,000 years ago to the present)

The age of Chaos was a long period in Elanthian history and any semblance of order was slow to return, but once Despana fell the process did begin with earnest. After the removal of a dominant Elven influence and through a necessity to survive there were those who would fill the void in power left by the elves. Thus Human, Dwarven and Giantman Empires established in the shadow of the fallen Elven Empire would usher in the Fourth age of Elanthia.

One such empire was that of the Turamzzyrian Empire. It's borders span through much of the greater western hemisphere to the fringes of Rhoska-Tor along the demonwall and north to the highest edges of the Dragonspine Mountains. As remaining elven nations amongst the seven noble Houses of elves represented in the East so too does the human empire nearly rival it in the West.

Even though Despana had been destroyed and a human empire had arisen, her minions still encompassed huge portions of the jungles of southern wastes and many avoided this area beside the sturdiest, or most desperate of folks. The fallen Ta'Faendyrl were among those who were strong enough to brave the environment or had no other choice and sought refuge here. They had been shunned by the other elven nations who had banishing them and their brethen after unleashing the demons on Despana's undead.

While some form of normalacy was being established over centuries and wounds were healing the defeated forces of the Unlife was recooperating as well. Those unlucky souls tainted by it's power or the undead and demons wrought by it's destruction never had completed vanished.Tthe Dhe'nar recount in the tale of the "Stareater" that the Unlife was very much still lurking. It was during these troubling times in the Age of Chaos that the Unlife Cults sprang up across Elanthia to continue it's message.

These nations would have a great influence on forging governance, trade routes, and civilization once again. In this same era a small outpost would attract people looking for something, perhaps the basics of existance, to live and a town called Wehnimers Landing took form. It called to hunters, wanderers, and adventurers who found the climate, hunting, and plush atmosphere suitable to the call that brought them this far north. Of course, it went by a different name then...

"Through the surviving followers of Goseana, who for long years licked their wounds in hidden places, the Unlife found it's instruments. These souls, desperate for power, for even a shadow of the strength they once had, eagerly accepted the offers of energy from the Unlife and grew strong in dark places, gathering to themselves minions of many types and creating others to suit their needs."
